Shortly after FIRST® Championship, we launched a search for our new Senior Director of FIRST® Robotics Competition. It is my pleasure to announce that we have completed this search, and Collin Fultz will be the new Senior Director of FIRST Robotics Competition, effective immediately!
Collin has a broad range of experience both inside and outside of FIRST that he contributes to this position. He got his start in FIRST as a member of Team 234 in the FIRST Robotics Competition. Collin graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering after attending the university on a FIRST Scholarship after high school. Collin continued to be active with FIRST while attending Purdue by serving as a team mentor and assisting at events.
After graduating, Collin worked full-time as a project engineer at Rolls-Royce, a sponsor of Team 234. He also completed an internship there. Additionally, he worked with Bastian Solutions as an application engineer, assisting in the development of client-specific material handling solutions.
Collin began working with FIRST in 2010 as the Kit of Parts Engineer. Since then, Collin has also served as a FIRST Robotics Competition Team Advocate, Project Manager for the FIRST LEGO League, Manager of Stewardship, and most recently, Senior Program Manager and Interim Director for the FIRST Robotics Competition.
Collin continued to work with FIRST at this time. He has served as a judge for the FIRST LEGO League and the FIRST® Tech Challenge as well as an emcee, game announcer, and robot inspector for the FIRST Robotics Competition. He joined the FIRST Indiana Robotics Board of Directors in 2015, where he served for four years, two of them as Board President. He now works with FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge and FIRST® LEGO® League Explore teams as an assistant coach.
